Celtic Given Boost Ahead of Possible Plan Return

Neil Lennon has this afternoon confirmed that the club are working with the Scottish Government about the possibility of having fans return to Celtic Park as soon as next weekend.

The game against Motherwell, a week on Sunday is thought as being considered as ‘test event’ for a restricted amount of fans returning into grounds, along with a similar event taking place with Rugby, which has been confirmed today and will take place next Friday.

Speaking in with Celtic TV, in his press conference ahead of this weekends return to league action against Dundee United, Lennon spoke on how much they have missed supporters and cannot wait to see them back in the grounds.

“It’s fantastic. The club have been working with the government trying to make this happen and later on down the line opening the gates even more, which would be brilliant.

It is great having football back but obvious that a huge element is missing in the game we all want back.”

First minister Nicola Sturgeon also confirmed on Thursday morning that with strict social distancing rules and restricted numbers, we may seen the return of fans by the 14th of September.

This comes as a huge positive to the Celtic faithful. We have all been waiting months to be allowed back into grounds to watch our beloved side and finally we now have a date in mind of when we could possibly return.

Of course, not all fans will be able to return but it is at least better having some crowd back at game rather than no crowd whatsoever.
