We’re heading for a big problem in the SPFL if the current situation continues.
A virtual season ticket might have been thrashed out but according to reports today only two clubs have forked out the money for coronavirus testing equipment.
SunSport claims the only two clubs to have the equipment in place is Celtic and Ross County. The rest of the top-flight clubs have yet to sanction the equipment which is rumoured to cost £35k.
Testing equipment is vital for being allowed to kick off the game in August on time. However, with clubs unsure of how the league will look and what sort of revenue they will be receiving, some are not in a hurry to fork our for the equipment.
Players need to be kept safe and the proper precautions have to be taken to make sure football in this country can go ahead. We need cooperation and guidance from the SPFL to make sure everyone has this in place before August.
