Celtic Flop to Seal £5 Million Move

Celtic sold Vakoun Bayo to Gent last summer for a fee of just over £1 million. Now, the Ivorian striker is set to join Watford in the English championship, with the side playing £5 million for the former hoops player. [Football Scotland]

His time at Celtic didn’t work out for him after he signed for Brendan Rodgers. He made seventeen appearances for the Hoops, scoring just twice. He was sent out on loan and looked to kick-start his career, hitting some fine form with Toulouse. He ended his season with thirteen goals.

However, this wasn’t enough to save his Celtic career, and he was sold when he returned last summer. Joining Gent in Belgium, he penned a four-year deal, so the reports that he’s on the move already comes as a surprise.

Ange Hasn’t Made a Similar Mistake.

Celtic forked out £2 million to sign Bayo, a relatively hefty fee. He joined the list of many players who Celtic have spent large amounts of money on to become flops.

All of Ange’s signings have been great, with nearly every player he’s signed hitting the ground running. Hopefully, this will continue into the future.
