The Edinburgh side finished three points behind Celtic in 5th last season.

The Ghirls will then welcome newly promoted Hamilton Accies to the Excelsior Stadium in their first home fixture of the season. A short journey to face Partick Thistle follows, before the first Glasgow derby of the campaign against Rangers, scheduled for early September on home turf.

The league structure remains unchanged, with 18 pre-split fixtures determining the standings before the division separates into a top six and bottom four as we enter March.

After a bitterly disappointing fourth-place finish last season, Elena Sadiku faces a significant summer rebuild as she aims to return Celtic to title contention. The squad has already undergone major changes, with Lucy Ashworth-Clifford, Murphy Agnew, Kit Loferski, Luana, Colette Cavanagh, Mathilde Carstens and Bruna all leaving the club.

Contract discussions are still ongoing with key players Kelsey Daugherty, Celya Barclais, and Abi Harrison, with their futures yet to be confirmed.

In the background, Stewart McGuire has been confirmed as the new Head of Women’s Football Operations. He arrives at a crucial time, with recruitment, development and structure all in need of immediate attention as Celtic look to bounce back strongly from last term’s setbacks.

The Ghirls will be eager to make a strong start in what promises to be a fiercely competitive season.
