Celtic FC Foundation Announces Legends Charity Match at Celtic Park v Manchester United

Celtic and Manchester United Legends will meet again this September after last year’s lively match at Old Trafford finished 1-1, with the Hoops winning it on penalties.

This year’s game at Celtic Park will bring a mix of old favourites back to Glasgow’s east end, with Joe Hart and Tom Rogic added to the Legends squad for the first time.

Hart hung up his gloves at the end of the 2023/24 season after firmly establishing himself as a key figure in Celtic’s recent domestic success. The experienced keeper quickly became a fan favourite during his three years in Glasgow.

He said: (Celtic FC), “I am absolutely delighted to be returning to Celtic Park for the Legends match in September. It was such an honour to finish my career with the Club. I really can’t wait to come back and play in front of the fans again.”

Rogic, meanwhile, will pull on the Hoops again for the first time since departing in 2022. The midfielder made over 250 appearances in green and white and was central to some of Celtic’s biggest moments over the past decade.

He said: “It’s really exciting to be coming back for the Legends match, to come back and pull on the Hoops again will be a very special moment.”

The Legends Charity Match, supported by Dafabet, will raise funds for Celtic FC Foundation, with proceeds going toward initiatives like the Paradise Pit Stop, a vital community project offering hot meals and a safe space to those facing food poverty and isolation.

Matchday hospitality packages will also be available starting at £42 per person.

The return of Hart and Rogic promises a special afternoon in the east end of Glasgow, as Celtic’s past greats come together once again for a cause at the heart of the club’s founding principles.
