Livingston have pulled off a masterclass in passive-aggressive banter ahead of their visit to Celtic Park on Saturday, 23 August.
In promoting away tickets on X, the club attached a photo from the away end featuring one of Celtic Park’s most infamous pillars, squarely in the middle of what would otherwise be a decent view.

The subtlety of it makes it all the funnier. Rather than complain, Livingston let the image speak for itself, and it didn’t take long for supporters to clock on.
Celtic fans didn’t miss the chance to join in the laughs. Some reckoned the pillar might be the only thing capable of keeping Daizen Maeda quiet.
Others suggested Livingston fans might be grateful for the visual barrier, depending on how things go on the pitch. Either way, it’s got people talking about a part of the stadium that normally blends into the background.
The pillar in question has long been a part of the landscape in that section of the ground. Most accept it as part of the charm, or at least an occupational hazard of certain seats. But Livingston’s decision to highlight it in their ticket announcement turned a bit of infrastructure into the star of the post.

It’s a bit of harmless pre-match fun, and credit where it’s due, Livingston’s admin knows how to wind up a crowd with a single photo. Whether or not it affects the travelling support’s enjoyment of the game is another matter entirely.
Come kick-off, all eyes, unobstructed or not, will be on the park. But thanks to one well-placed image, that pillar’s already had its moment in the spotlight.
