Speculation had been rife about the 28-year-old’s future, with rumours of a potential move away from Celtic and reunions with former manager Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham.
Concerns among the Hoops faithful were raised when Kyogo posted a reflective message looking back on the past season, leading fans to fear that it might be a farewell message.
However, in an interview with Fuji TV during his international duty, the Japanese forward provided a glimmer of hope that he intends to stay in the green and white hoops.
Kyogo expressed his excitement about the upcoming season and his desire to improve in the UEFA Champions League after a successful domestic campaign. Despite securing a treble domestically, Celtic’s European journey did not go as planned.
Determined to rectify that, Kyogo emphasised his commitment to working together with his teammates to move in the right direction and achieve success on multiple fronts.
He said: [On Fuji TV quoted by Football Scotland]
“I was happy to win the treble this season, but it didn’t go well in the Champions League.
“So next season I want to work together with everyone to move in the right direction and try to win as many as possible.”
