Hooper, now 36, joined Celtic in 2010 from Scunthorpe United and quickly became a key figure in the team’s attack. Over three seasons, he netted 82 goals in 138 appearances, contributing significantly to Celtic’s domestic success, which included two league titles and two Scottish Cup victories.
Last year, Kevin Wilson suggested that Brendan Rodgers should consider signing the free agent Hooper after his performance at the Masters.
The match, which also marks the return of Emilio Izaguirre, promises to be a nostalgic event for Celtic supporters.
There are still plenty of names to be announced as the countdown to the match begins.
