Celtic is reportedly considering a bid for NK Maribor’s young striker, Zan Vipotnik. The 21-year-old Slovenian has been in stellar form this season, netting 19 goals in 32 league games, and has caught the attention of several clubs across Europe.
Vipotnik’s impressive performance for the Slovenian giants, despite their third-place finish in the league, has put him on the radar of Celtic’s recruitment team.
The Scottish champions are keen to bolster their attacking options, with Kyogo Furuhashi and Oh Hyeon-gyu currently leading the line. Daizen Maeda, while capable of playing as a striker, is preferred on the wing by manager Ange Postecoglou, making the addition of another striker a priority.
According to an exclusive report by Football Scotland, Celtic’s interest in Vipotnik has been registered with his agent, although it is still in the early stages. No official bid has been made yet, but it’s understood that the young striker could cost around £3.5 million if Celtic were to secure his services in the summer transfer window.

However, Celtic are not the only club vying for Vipotnik’s signature. The striker’s impressive form in the Slovenian top flight has attracted interest from several other clubs, including Croatian giants Dinamo Zagreb.
Despite the competition, Celtic fans will be hoping that the prospect of playing for the Scottish champions and participating in the UEFA Champions League will sway any potential signing’s decision.
As always, it’s important to remember that transfer rumours can be unpredictable and nothing is confirmed until official announcements are made. However, the potential addition of Vipotnik could certainly add an exciting dimension to Celtic’s attack next season.
