Celtic look set to lose Ben Doak to Liverpool in the coming days with David Friel of SunSport claiming the move is now ‘imminent’.
CeltsAreHere has been told by a source close to the club that Celtic have thrown the kitchen sink at Ben and his representative to try and get him to sign a deal with the Hoops but it has been to no avail.
Ben is a Celtic fan but his head has been turned by what’s being offered at Liverpool. Celtic’s academy still doesn’t have the best grasp or plan for young players and things are still taking shape since the bhoys joined the lowland league.
Ben is a really talented player, as examples by his hat-trick for Scotland’s under 17s this week.
He has a bright future in the game and he is banking on his ability to make it at Liverpool.
Ange has said repeatedly he’s not going to sell Celtic to any one player and has to concentrate on the people who want to be at the club.
With that regard, Ben is unlikely to see any more game time this season before he heads off to Liverpool in the summer.
It’s a shame how things have worked out but the club and Ben will go their separate ways and we wish him all the best.
