Celtic Duo’s Parkhead Careers Could Be Over – Lennon Seeks Lawwell Talks

Neil Lennon has admitted the status of his two loan players beyond June is up in the air with the season postponed until further notice.

There’s no information yet when we might see a return to football or if this season will even resume.

If it does resume past June, then Celtic will have players out of contract not able to play as well as Fraser Forster and Mohamed Elyounoussi.

Both would be due back at Southampton in the summer leaving the bhoys without two top players.

Asked if he heard anything about keeping a hold of the players for longer, the Irishman was not sure and admitted he has to liaise with the higher ups at Celtic.

“I would need to speak to Peter Lawwell or Michael Nicholson on Fraser and Mohamed’s situation.” Lennon told SunSport.

“It’s hypothetical at the minute but it’s another thing I will now have to think about.

“There may be a conversation with Southampton on that. We don’t know how long this is going to go on for. It’s an indefinite period.”

There’s potentially ten more games for Celtic to play if the season does resume and to have no Fraser Forster would be a blow.

The season could be ended before any of these conversations need to be had. Fraser and Moi could have played their final games for Celtic.
