Celtic Duo Receive Japan Call-Ups

Things seem to be rather hectic at Celtic at the minute with the Champions League group stage draw on the horizon along with the upcoming transfer deadline and Glasgow Derby.

After the latter, it is the international break and a few players have already been called up for their national teams.

The most recent Celts to receive the call were Japanese duo Kyogo Furuhashi and Daizen Maeda. The attacking pair were included in Hajime Moriyasu’s squad that is due to take on Germany and Turkey next month.

There was no inclusion for midfielder Reo Hatate who is out injured at the moment. Even still, it remains to be seen whether or not the former Kawasaki Frontale man would’ve even received the call as under Brendan Rodgers, his form hasn’t been spine-tingling.

Maeda and Kyogo, though, are constants with the national team, and the pair will be looking to add to their 12 and 18 caps respectively in September.
