Celtic have sanctioned two more loan departures as Mitchell Robertson and Ben McPherson exit the club in search of regular first-team football.

Defender Robertson, 20, has sealed a season-long loan move to Inverness Caledonian Thistle. The Highland club will start the League 1 campaign on -5 points due to a disciplinary deduction. A mainstay in Celtic’s B team and a UEFA Youth League regular, Robertson will now test himself in the senior game as Inverness look to mount a promotion charge under challenging circumstances.

Meanwhile, right-back Ben McPherson is set to join Partick Thistle. Jags boss Mark Wilson confirmed the move, stating that the Scotland U21 international is close to completing a loan switch to Firhill. McPherson, who’s been part of Celtic’s pre-season group, previously impressed in a loan stint at Queen’s Park and is determined to return to Parkhead better equipped to push for a first-team place. It’s good to see both players get decent loan moves which will help them both.
McPherson looked good in pre-season, and looks like he could potentially have some sort of role at Celtic, even if it was just the Anthony Ralston role.
There will be more loan moves, with Ayr United saying they’re expecting a third Celtic youth star, after completing a cooperation agreement with Celtic.
