Celtic Duo in Premature Lennoxtown Return

It was a disappointing afternoon for Celtic loan duo Ewan Henderson and Kerr McInroy as Dunfermline were eliminated at the quarter-final stage in the push for a Premiership place.

The Pars took on Fife rivals Raith Rovers in a two-legged tie. The first leg on Tuesday night ended in a 0-0 draw between the sides but Rovers came out on top in yesterday’s fixture sending them through to the next stages of the playoffs.

This also ultimately ends the loan spell for the duo who played their part in helping Dunfermline to a 4th place finish in the Scottish Championship.

McInroy spent the entire season with Dunfermline, featuring 22 times in total. Whereas, Henderson joined a little later in the season at the end of March in their final push for the playoff spots, playing 10 times, scoring once and setting up another three goals.

With yesterday’s result, it also means that Stevie Crawford’s side misses out on a semi-final fixture against Dundee and fellow Celtic loanee Jonathan Afolabi.
