Celtic Draw Green and White Group in the Europa League

The Europa League draw has been done and Celtic now know who they’ll be facing in the coming months!

The Hoops got past Jablonec and Alkmaar to get to the group stages but they’ll have to improve greatly if they’re to get out of this group.

The Europa League has changed this year and you would have noticed there is only 32 clubs in the draw instead of 48.

Editor @CraigCelt covered all the changes after Celtic qualified against Alkmaar on Thursday [Read More Here].

In a nutshell, first place in the group will go straight into the last 16, second place will go into a knock out tie with the 3rd place clubs in the Champions League for a place in the last 16 and third place will get you a knock out tie with a UEFA conference league team who finish second.

There’s chance for progression in Europe as long as you don’t finish dead last.

It will be a return to Celtic Park for Jeremy Frimpong with Leverkusen! A trip to Spain to take on Real Betis and the return of Ferencvaros! There’s three teams in the group that play in green and white.

What a group!
