Celtic’s Premiership dominance has been recognised by their peers, with seven Hoops stars named in the PFA Scotland Premiership Team of the Year.

The team, voted for by fellow professionals across the league, highlights the influence Brendan Rodgers’ men have had throughout another title-chasing campaign.

Kasper Schmeichel, who arrived at Parkhead to add experience and quality, has been named the top stopper. He’s joined by two defensive colleagues — Alistair Johnston at right-back and Cameron Carter-Vickers in the heart of defence.

In midfield, captain Callum McGregor continues to be recognised as one of the league’s standout performers. Reo Hatate, back to full fitness and form, also takes his place in the engine room.

Nicolas Kuhn, despite a mixed second half of the season, earns selection for his early-season form and moments of brilliance. Up front, there could be no denying Daizen Maeda — the league’s top scorer — a place in the front line, with 31 goals in all competitions and counting.

It’s a strong Celtic contingent, supported by Rangers duo John Souttar and Nicolas Raskin, Hearts’ James Penrice, and Dundee United’s Sam Dalby.

With the title now in touching distance, the PFA recognition only adds to the sense of momentum around Parkhead as the season edges towards its conclusion.
