Celtic ‘Didn’t Win It’ – Todd Cantwell’s Embarrassing Parkhead Outburst

Despite much hype surrounding Todd Cantwell’s first appearance in the Glasgow Derby, Celtic emerged victorious with a 3-2 scoreline, leaving the Ibrox midfielder with valuable lessons to learn.

Instead, Cantwell chose to express himself off the field in the aftermath of the defeat, and he had some harsh words for Celtic.

There’s just no humility to be found down at Ibrox despite the regular humblings from Celtic.

Writing on Instagram, Todd is adamant Celtic did not win the game: “We lost the game, they didn’t win it. The disappointment is real. We continue to stick together and build in the right direction. This is a project and a exciting one. Stick together as one.”

“It’s a peculiar statement, but perhaps it was made to mask the reality that even though Celtic didn’t perform at their peak, they still managed to defeat their rivals.

Celtic WON the game by being clinical on the day. While The Rangers were admirable at times, their only real threats were from set pieces. In open play, they were finding it tough to get at Celtic.

It resulted in the Ibrox players feigning injury and buying fouls just so they could chuck the ball into the box. The free kick they got for their equaliser in the first half looks debatable, but nobody wants to discuss that.

We get so much bluster from this mob pre and post-match. They never seem to learn. Cantwell didn’t do much to affect the game, and he should be concerned about his part in the defeat.

Chris Sutton had a good laugh at the player’s comments.
