Celtic unveiled Brendan Rodgers to the mainstream media today and Celtic fan media as the Irishman gets set for a second spell in charge of the best team in Scotland.
However, one major news outlet was DENIED access to the press conference on Friday afternoon.
The BBC, which usually has a reporter in the media room post-match at Celtic Park, was not given access, and they shared the information with their readers on the BBC website.
The message read: ‘Welcome to the live text on Brendan Rodgers’ return as Celtic manager – we’re following this on various feeds as the BBC have been denied access to the media conference.’
It’s a surprising turn of events that the state media broadcaster has been left out of the equation. Knowing Celtic and dealing with their media team, there will likely be a legitimate reason for the BBC not to be granted access.

The BBC had to watch from afar and use the live stream Celtic had posted up for fans.
Brendan spoke very well in the press conference and addressed some nagging feelings about his return after leaving so abruptly the first time around.
We will update you with content from the media press conference throughout the day and have a reporter on-site to talk to Brendan, which we’ll share on our socials.
It’s great to see the majority of fans getting behind this appointment. Something that would have felt like a non-starter even six weeks ago!
