Adam Montgomery has joined Queenβs Park on loan from Celtic until the end of the season, reuniting with manager Callum Davidson, under whom he previously played during a loan spell at St. Johnstone.
Queens Park announced the move 15 minutes into Celtic’s 6-0 thrashing of Dundee.

The 22-year-old left-back initially broke into the Celtic first team under Ange Postecoglou, making 18 appearances during the 2021/22 season. However, injuries have since hampered his development, leading to several loan moves in recent years.
After his breakthrough at Celtic, Montgomery had spells at Aberdeen, St. Johnstone, Fleetwood, and Motherwell. His time at Motherwell showed promise, as he impressed in his first few appearances, but injury struck again, forcing him to return to Celtic prematurely.
Although he was linked with a January deadline-day move back to St. Johnstone, that move didnβt materialise, leaving Montgomery to remain at Celtic without making a single senior appearance this season.
Now, Montgomery has the chance to kick-start his career at Queenβs Park, where he will aim to get regular game time and prove his fitness.
Interestingly, he could make his debut this weekend in a Scottish Cup clash against Rangers at Ibroxβa potential baptism of fire, but also a huge platform to show what he can do.
At 22, Montgomery still has time to reignite his career, and this loan spell could be pivotal. Working under Callum Davidson again provides a familiar environment, and consistent performances could open the door for a return to Celticβs first team next seasonβor a permanent move elsewhere if regular football remains elusive at Parkhead.
