Gustaf Lagerbielke is on the verge of securing a move to FC Twente, with the Swedish centre-back currently in the Netherlands to complete his medical.

This move, set for a season-long loan, comes as FC Twente seeks to bolster their defensive options following the departure of Robin Propper to Rangers.

Lagerbielke, 24, found himself on the fringes at Celtic and has been openly available for loan as part of Brendan Rodgers’ squad reshaping efforts. Despite not featuring prominently in Rodgers’ plans, the Celtic manager has praised Lagerbielke for his professionalism during his time at the club.
The move to FC Twente offers Lagerbielke a fresh start and a chance to establish himself in the Eredivisie, potentially opening doors for more consistent playing time.
Hopefully, he can get some consistent minutes and impress so that he can kick on with his career. There’s obviously a player in there, but it’s just not worked out at Celtic for whatever reason.
