According to Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph on Twitter, Stephen Welsh is attracting interest from clubs in Serie A and the Bundesliga.
Amid this speculation, Joseph confirmed Celtic knocked back loan to buy offers for the centre half last summer from Italian side Udinese and French outfit Toulouse.
A departure from Celtic may be best for Welsh this summer as he only made six appearances for the club last summer.
Nonetheless, Joseph did say that Brendan Rodgers will assess the state of his squad before making any decisions there one never knows what may happen regarding the 23 year old’s future.
