Hazard had featured in the 2020/21 campaign, and was the hero in the Covid–delayed Scottish Cup final against Hearts, saving two penalties to win it for the Hoops. But, his performances eventually faded, leading to his exclusion from the team. The Northern Irishman has also been on loan at Falkirk, Partick Thistle and Dundee in the past.
