Since leaving Celtic permanently in 2017, central defender Efe Ambrose has played for a plethora of clubs.

Now at 35, Ambrose is yet to hang up his boots and over the weekend, found a rather surprising new club.

Indeed, it was announced on Saturday that the AFCON winner had signed for ninth-tier English side Bury FC, much to the shock of their fans.

Ambrose joins the Greater Manchester-based side on a free transfer, and will now play his football in the Premier Division of the North West Counties Football League in the forthcoming season.

Last month, the four-time Scottish Premiership winner played at Celtic Park for the Hoops’ legends team in a charity match against Borussia Dortmund.

His return to Parkhead was welcomed by many supporters, who will now wish Ambrose all the best in his new pastures South of the border.
