Efe Ambrose is the perfect example of a footballing journeyman.
The Nigerian defender has been around the block countless times, and he recently added yet another club to his ever-lasting CV.

Indeed, yesterday, the 35-year-old signed for English seventh-tier outfit Workington FC:

The West Cumbrian side became the thirteenth of Ambrose’s career. He has spent time with Kaduna United, Bayelsa, FC Ashdod, Hibernian, Derby County, Livingston, St, Johnstone, Dunfermline, Queen of the South, Greenock Morton, and Bury, but he is most remembered for his five-year stint with Celtic.
Ambrose made 169 appearances for the Bhoys, winning four Scottish Premiership titles, one Scottish League Cup, and one Scottish Cup. The Nigerian also played a part in a famous Champions League win over Barcelona and returned to the club in May to play in a legends’ match with Borussia Dortmund.
Now a veteran, the defender’s experience will be invaluable at a team like Workington.
It remains to be seen how long he will stay with the club, but one wouldn’t bet against Ambrose playing for a few more years.
