Celtic take to the pre-season trail today in Austria as they go head to head on local side Pinkafield.

This seasons journey starts here and it’s a great opportunity for the fringe players to shine. Not only that but it gives some first team players the chance to make their return to the first team.

Ryan Christie and Leigh Griffiths will pull on the Hoops this afternoon. Griffiths, for the first time this year and Christie’s first bit of action since that horrible face injury suffered in the Hampden semi-final.

Neil Lennon knows it’s all about minutes and it’s a very makeshift squad with nobody that was involved in international duty and came a week later taking part in the game.

Celtic have their Champions League qualifiers coming up and have to hit the ground running in the next few weeks.

The bhoys may yet be joined by new faces before they head home with the club looking to conclude deals for Turnbull and Jullien.
