Scottish Lowland League sides have voted in favour of Celtic and Rangers Colt sides playing in their League next season.

In a vote which took place this evening, 11 sides voted in favour of the two teams joining next season, with nine votes needed for it to pass. Five decided to vote against and one club abstained their vote.

Last week, it was revealed that a proposal that saw Celtic and Rangers colt teams enter the league for one season (2021/22) was being put forward to the Lowland League sides and it was revealed this evening by journalist Stephen McGowan that the vote had passed.

With the youngsters that the two sides possess in their ranks, this could be seen as a good thing for them in particular when it comes to bringing through new crops of talent. These sides may have also accepted the proposal due to the financial aspect of them joining the league next season.

It does come as a bit of a surprise to a lot of Celtic fans to see this go through, with some clubs revealing their frustrations with the whole idea.

But now, it looks like the youngsters at the club are set to playing regular football come next season.
