REPORTS this morning suggest Celtic are about to secure Scot Brown’s testimonial opponents for the end of this season.
It was thought Liverpool were the front runners for a glamour tie at Celtic Park in May but after tentative talks with the English side, a deal couldn’t be done to bring them to Glasgow.
Celtic have now been in deep talks with the Republic of Ireland about being the opposition with an announcement on the fixture due any day now.
Martin O’Neill’s men look to provide the opposition for Scott Brown much like the international side did for Jackie McNamara’s testimonial 10 plus years ago.
It would certainly be a glamour tie for the fans and could see O’Neill back in the Celtic dugout to go up against Brendan Rodgers. Two treble winning managers.
There could also be some old faces back in the hoops that played with Scott Brown throughout his career.
