CELTIC have all but sealed the league, meaning that they will participate in the group stages of the Champions League next season.
Celtic already have a squad that’s packed with quality but will look to add to this in the summer window.
Postecoglou has identified areas that he wants to improve but explains that gaining entry to the Champions League hasn’t prompted this. He does admit that it might intrigue some players to Scotland to pull on the green and white.
Speaking to the press on Friday, via Celtic TV, Postecoglou said;
“We know the areas we need to strengthen – both on and off the field. We’ve identified the areas we have to recruit in to get the squad stronger. I don’t think being in the UCL changes that – but it may make us a more attractive proposition. It might be a carrot.”
It’ll be interesting to see who comes in the summer. I expect the club to try to move players who don’t contribute to the team, like Soro and Barkas.
With Jota and Carter-Vickers potentially signing for the Hoops, Postecoglou will breathe a sigh of relief, knowing he’ll keep the same squad from his debut title-winning season.
It’s very interesting Ange mentioned off the field signings. The manager must have his eye on some serious backroom team members.
I doubt many Japanese League players will arrive in Glasgow in the summer, with their league to end in time for the January window.
