Celtic Champions League Update

CELTIC are set to go straight into the Champions League group stages next season if they win the Scottish Premiership. This looks likely; the Hoops are six points ahead with nine points to play for. Three points will effectively win Celtic the league.

Swiss Football Data on Twitter has completed the potential pots for next season’s Champions League group stage.

Celtic are ranked the third-worst team in the competition and find themselves in pot 4. The Rangers are also included in the projected pots, with two paths to the group, excluding winning the league, currently open to the Ibrox club.

The groups look extremely difficult. Liverpool, who are set to progress to the Champions League final, are in pot 2.

Celtic has no easy draw, but we shouldn’t write ourselves off. The Hoops have made history in the past, beating one of the best ever Barcelona teams, beating the French Champions, and winning against Lazio home and away.

Postecoglou will aim for his team to attack every game and aim to take three points.

The financial rewards of playing in the Champions League are there for all to see but we need to be as competitive as possible and to do that, we’ll also need to spend.

It’s up to Celtic, Michael Nicholson, Mark Lawwell and Ange Postecoglou to pave the way for European success.
