Celtic Brilliantly Respond to Livingston’s Away End Dig

Celtic have fired back at Livingston after the West Lothian club had a playful dig over ticket sales for next weekend’s Premiership clash at Celtic Park.

Earlier, Livi’s social media team posted a tongue-in-cheek reminder for their fans, showing the away end at Parkhead, complete with one of the infamous poles that obstruct the view for a handful of seats, alongside their ticket details.

It was light-hearted and well-received, but Celtic weren’t letting it slide without a response.

The club’s Supporter Liaison Officer returned serve with a photo of a car park space and the caption: “You forgot to include Supporter Parking info”.

Celtic will face Livingston at Parkhead, sandwiched between two legs of their Champions League play-off against Kairat.

If the match is half as entertaining as the pre-game social media exchanges, it could be quite a Saturday in Glasgow’s East End.

With a trip to Almaty looming just days later, Brendan Rodgers may be tempted to rotate his squad — but the champions will still be expected to keep their 100% start to the league season intact.

Brendan Rodgers has admitted that he would have liked to face Slovan Bratislava, rather than a gruelling 7,000-mile round trip, with a five-hour time difference. But, it is what it is, and Celtic just have to beat the side over two legs to get into the Champions League.

“Of course, everyone would have preferred a shorter travelling distance, but they got through, they won the tie, so we’ll play the first game of our two legs and our objective is to get through.”
