Ange Postecoglou Calls for Celtic Stars to Honour Bertie

The last two weeks or so have been an emotional time for all those involved with Celtic, after the passing of an icon, Bertie Auld.

On Sunday, as the Hoops prepare to take on Aberdeen at Celtic Park, Bertie will once again be honoured by those in the ground on supporters first return to Parkhead since his sad passing.

Going into the game, Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou is determined to honour Auld by watching his side put on a show and produce a performance that would have made Bertie smile.

“It’s been a pretty emotional ten days, and we shouldn’t miss any opportunity to honour him and represent him in the best possible manner,” he said, speaking to the club’s official website.

“The way we’ll do it as a team is to go out there and hopefully put on a performance that he would’ve smiled at.”

The tributes to Bertie so far, at Hampden Park and at his funeral yesterday, have brilliantly honoured an icon of not only Celtic but Scottish Football as a whole.

Of course, Bertie played his part in the clubs most successful side ever, who really laid down the blueprint of how Celtic Football club should be playing football in this day and age.

So it would be very fitting to see Ange and his squad put on a show in honour of the great to celebrate the life of a true character.
