Confirmed: Celtic Park Meeting Set for Monday

NEIL LENNON has confirmed he will meet with the Celtic executives on Monday to thrash out where Celtic go from here and to get an update on what’s going on.

The story has been fast-moving since last week. We went from Glasgow Derby being played with a full house to the whole season being shut down because of the Coronavirus.

It’s unprecedented and we’re all trying to wrap our heads around what’s going on, which isn’t easy. In the grand scheme of things, football should take a back seat to what’s going on in the world but for Neil Lennon and his squad, this is their life.

It’s the same for supporters who live and breathe the club. Supporters who know Celtic were well on their way to nine in a row.

The Celtic manager has outlined his plans for the start of the week after giving his players a few days off. Right now they should be in a hotel, ready to make the short trip to Ibrox.

Lennon confirmed Monday’s meeting and also confirmed when the squad returned to SunSport:

He said: “I have been told this thing is not even at its peak and it’s going to become more widespread.

“We don’t know how long this impasse will last. Where we are going to pick up and what we do with the players in between? Do we go on a break?

“You can’t fly anywhere or take them anywhere. We have a lot to ponder. We have given the players the weekend off and Monday too.

“We will have a meeting with the executive team on Monday and see what we can do from there. At the moment we are all in the dark.

“We are sort of institutionalised. It’s a way of life. We’re regimented, a bit like being in the army.

“You train, you go to the hotel, you have the preparation then the game. All that routine is indefinitely out of the window — and it’s not as if it’s a holiday.

“It’s a very strange situation. This is the time of year you are out looking for players, scouting, recruiting.
