Celtic are preparing to welcome Barcelona left-back Alex Valle to Glasgow, with a medical scheduled for Monday as they finalize a season-long loan deal, Fabrizio Romano reports.
Celtic has agreed to cover Valle’s full wages during the loan period, amounting to approximately £24,000 per week.
Valle, 20, gained valuable experience last season with 29 appearances for Levante in the Spanish second tier.
The young defender’s move to Celtic does not include an option to buy.
The young player will come in to challenge for the starting spot, especially with Celtic paying those wages.
Greg Taylor is the only senior left-back at Celtic just now, with Matthew Anderson, a young left-back who featured in pre-season, set for a loan exit this summer.

Taylor’s contract is currently set to expire at the end of the season. There have been no reports to suggest that the club are engaged in contract talks with the Scottish international, but Brendan Rodgers has suggested that this will be looked at soon.
