This accolade examined Celtic’s performance in several key operational areas, such as fan and community engagement, equality, ethical standards, and financial sustainability.

The Scottish champions surpassed even Tottenham Hotspur, who came in second place, with fellow Scottish club Hearts securing the third spot. The index also placed Manchester United and Hibernian in the top five.

On the whole, Scottish clubs actually performed better than English sides.

Celtic topped three of the five UK-wide categories.

Overall: 80.6 / 100.

Financial sustainability: 36.5 / 40

Good governance: 25.1 / 30

Fan and community engagement: 6.0/10

Equality and ethical standards: 13.0 / 20

So pretty good scoring there from Celtic. Some things like the financial score don’t come as a surprise, given Celtic’s history of profit-making and the cash reserves the club currently has.

The business side of the club is run well, you have to admit.
