Celtic B Suffer Setback

Celtic B travelled to take on Dalbeattie Star in the Lowland League on Wednesday evening however an Adam Brooks double was not enough for the young Hoops to taste victory.

Celtic made a strong start to the match and got themselves 1-0 up just 14 minutes in, 19 year old Brooks finishing after some nice football on the left hand side.

It was Brooks’ 13th league goal in 18 appearances for Celtic B this season however it wasn’t long before the attacker had another.

56 minutes in, the Scotland under 19 international netted with a header to put the visitors in the comfort zone.

It wasn’t all roses in the garden for Celtic, however, as Dalbeattie got one back 65 minutes in. Seven minutes after this, they had another, making it 2-2 with 18 to go.

Celtic dominated the closing stages but failed to find a late winner. Despite being 2-0 up and cruising at one point, the Bhoys faltered and had to settle for a point which put them two points behind Lowland League leaders The Spartans.

Next up for Celtic B is a trip to Bellshill to take on Caledonian Braves at Alliance Park this Saturday at 3pm.

Darren O’Dea and Stephen McManus will be looking to get their side back to winning ways and attempt to bridge the gap between themselves and The Spartans who are two points ahead, albeit with a game in hand.
