A new image has emerged online, reportedly showcasing Celtic’s away shirt for the upcoming 2023/24 season. While we cannot confirm its authenticity, the design bears a striking resemblance to some of the iconic kits from the past, most notably the yellow jersey worn during the club’s memorable run to Seville in 2003 and as recent as the 2019 New Balance effort.
The leaked shirt is predominantly yellow with green detailing, featuring the club’s crest and adidas logo prominently displayed. The front of the jersey showcases a subtle Irish pattern, adding a touch of flair to the traditional colour scheme. Green accents on the shoulders and sides provide a bold contrast. However, looking closer at the image it does look like AI could have played a part in its construction. Is this a rough image of what it’s going to look like or is it completely wide of the mark?
Popular Celtic account ‘Everything Celtic’ shared the image.
One of the standout things about this design is its apparent nod to the 2002/03 season’s away shirt, a fan favourite associated with Celtic’s journey to the UEFA Cup final in Seville. That kit, with its bright yellow base and green trim, became synonymous with one of the club’s most exciting European campaigns in recent history.
The rear of this shirt continues the theme, with the sponsor’s name, Magners, displayed in green across the back. The overall design is clean and striking, making it a potential hit among the supporters if it turns out to be the official away kit for the season but the jury on its authenticity is still out.
While we await confirmation, it’s worth noting that the club’s new home kit has already been unveiled this week. Given the timing, it seems likely that the official announcements for the away and third shirts will follow shortly. If this leaked image is anything to go by, Celtic fans can expect a blend of nostalgic charm and modern design in the upcoming season’s away kit.
