Celtic have avoided yet another Covid-19 set back after it was revealed today that two team-mates of Shane Duffy in the Ireland National team have tested positive for the virus.
Both James McClean and Matt Doherty will miss the Republic of Ireland’s final Nations League game against Bulgaria after the duo tested positive and will now have to self-isolate, as it was revealed on the Irish National team’s official Twitter.

Luckily for Neil Lennon and Celtic, they also confirmed that all players and staff were tested again, including Duffy and there were no further positive tests within the squad.
As much as Shane Duffy hasn’t had a great time of things in recent weeks, no one would wish that he catches this potentially deadly virus.
Add in that we have had a lot of injuries and covid problems recently, you don’t want to be losing even more members of the first-team squad, with a long run of important games coming up.
Ireland as a national side has probably been one of the worst effected with positive tests since the international games kicked off again. Let’s hope there are no further positive cases that can affect anyone within that squad.
