Celtic Annoyed After Hibs Stunt Locks Celtic Fans Out

CELTIC’S Fan Liason Officer, John Paul tweeted a picture of tarped off, half-empty stand as Celtic took on Hibernian at Easter Road.

The reason for the image?

Hibernian halved Celtic’s allocation for the game which is usually around 4,000 tickets.

The reason for this was to give Hibernian fans a better chance of snapping up tickets to see their players take on Celtic.

However, as kick off approached it was clear this was a massive error by the club with Celtic filling their 2,000 ticket allocation no problem while the Hibs area was sparsely populated.

Celtic Fans would have filled out the whole stand without a problem but actively cutting the allocation with the end result being empty seats everywhere – it makes a mockery of Scottish Football.

They have cost themselves money and looked silly in the process. If there is demand, then, of course the club should sell to their own fans but it’s clear the demand wasn’t there.

Locking paying customers out of Scottish Football is pretty poor. On this occasion, they did Celtic fans a favour with the club putting in a poor performance it certainly wasn’t worth the trip.

John Paul used the immortal line – ‘Football without fans…is nothing’
