Right-back is certainly a position that Celtic have needed recently with Kristoffer Ajer being forced to fill in there as Kenny joins the Hoops to replace Jeremie Frimpong who last week completed his move German Bundesliga side, Bayern Leverkusen.
The 23-year has been at the Merseyside club since the age of nine-years-old and has also had several loan spells at clubs such as Wigan, Oxford United and last season with Schalke.
He has also represented England at all age levels from under-16s all the way up till the under-21 squad.
This season he has made eight first-team appearances but finds himself behind the likes of Seamus Coleman and Mason Holegate in the right-back pecking order.
Kenny is expected to go straight into the squad and could even make his debut in tomorrow evenings fixture away to Kilmarnock.
