Celtic leapt into the last sixteen of the Scottish Cup on Sunday evening following a deserved 5-0 win over Buckie Thistle. It was a game full of positives for the Hoops who took one step closer to securing back-to-back Scottish Cups.
After the game, the draw for the fifth round of the cup was made. In it, the Hoops were drawn to face St. Mirren in Paisley.
Said draw is in no way the easiest Celtic could have got but on the other hand, it is not the toughest.

In past seasons, the Buddies have caused Celtic many problems at the SMISA Stadium but when the holders come to town on the weekend of February 10/11th, they will be hoping for a similar start to the one they made at the beginning of 2024. The Hoops ran riot that day, Daizen Maeda netting within the first minute.
Winning against Stephen Robinson’s men next month is a must, particularly if Celtic are to achieve their season-long ambition of doing the double. Pre-match versus Buckie, centre-half Liam Scales admitted is a main target for The Bhoys.
Understandably, their initial goal was to win the treble but after an early league cup defeat to Kilmarnock, such a dream was shattered. Now, Scales and his teammates have their sights set on winning the league and Scottish Cup: “We wanted to win the treble this year”, he said (Viaplay).
“Obviously we didn’t achieve that and this is the next thing for us to do now is win the double.”
