Celtic have finalized a deal to sign Arne Engels from FC Augsburg, setting another new record fee for the club in the process.

The agreement was struck after intense negotiations, with Celtic’s CEO Michael Nicholson and Augsburg’s boss Michael Ströll sealing the terms on Thursday.
The Scottish Premiership champions will pay a total of €13 million (£11m) for the 20-year-old midfielder, a significant investment reflecting the high expectations surrounding Engels’ potential. Additionally, Augsburg has secured a 20% sell-on clause.

The deal, which has been a top priority for Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers, will see Engels undergo a medical on Friday, clearing the final hurdle before his much-anticipated move to Glasgow.
All going well with the medical, he’s set to be the second signing of this week, with the window slamming shut on Friday at 11 pm.
Brendan Rodgers is looking to bring two midfielders to the club in these final 32 or so hours of the summer window.
