Carter-Vickers Deal Latest

CELTIC have been locked in talks with Tottenham Hotspur in an attempt to make Cameron Carter-Vicker’s stay at the club become permanent. The Daily Record report that it is looking increasingly likely that the parties can strike a deal before the end of the season.

Of course, the fee has been agreed between Celtic and the London-based club, however, the clubs are locked in negotiations as to how the payment will be structured.

Despite Celtic’s efforts to lower the initially agreed fee, it was said there was “now wriggle-room” and the fee remains £6 million.

The American defender is one of two loan deals that came into the club in the summer that included an option to buy. Jota, the other player on the same loan, is also said to be a target for Celtic.

A fee of around £6.5 million has reportedly been agreed with Celtic and Benfica and the clubs are also said to be in talks. Maeda has come into Celtic on an initial loan with the club obliged to purchase him in the summer

Signing Carter-Vickers would demonstrate more good business from the club and would help maintain the solid defence that Ange has built.
