He was a deadline day deal in Ange’s first summer, coming in on an initial loan with an option to buy at the end of the season. He impressed throughout the spell, and the option to make his deal permanent was triggered in the early part of June, making him one of the summer’s first signings.

He’s continued his impressive form throughout this season; when he’s been out of the team the impact has been clear to see. In every game, he makes a great challenge that shuts down the threat of the opposition, while starting the attacks well.

During the pre-match press conference for the Aberdeen fixture, CCV was asked if he was on the form of his life, and after a quick think about it, he stated that he believed he was.

He said: [Celtic TV]

“Yeah, Probably. It’s always hard to judge and compare, because I’ve been at a lot of different clubs and teams in different leagues so it’s difficult to judge that fairly and accurately.

“I definitely feel good at the moment and as you say, I’m going into every game trying to improve and trying to perform.”
