SEAD HACKSABANVIC has been linked to Celtic for the best part of a month, with his arrival being confirmed on Thursday afternoon.
The versatile forward penned a five-year deal at the club after departing Rubin Kazan for a reported £1.7 million deal.
He was once teammates with Joe Hart and Albian Ajeti at West Ham but was most recently playing alongside Carl Starfelt in Russia. The Swedish defender made the same move to Celtic last summer, leaving the side before their relegation campaign commenced.
The eighth summer signing sat down with Celtic TV, discussing his latest move. He then revealed he had conversations with Carl Starfelt, who spoke very highly of the club.
“I know Joe Hart and Albian Ajeti from West Ham and I spent some time with Carl in Russia.
“He saw somewhere that I was linked to Celtic and he wrote to me but I didn’t want to say too much, I just asked him about the club and he only said good things, so I can’t wait to get started now.”
Carl Starfelt has his own challenge; he must now displace new defender Jenz to regain his position in the team. It could be a tricky challenge for the Swedish defender to make his way back into the team, with Jenz impressing so far. With the loanee at the back, it provides Celtic with a goal threat from set pieces, scoring double the amount of goals than Starfelt has in just three games.
