Celtic centre-half Cameron Carter-Vickers has been ever so crucial for his side throughout the season.
The American colossus has spent a few periods on the sidelines and that’s when one observes how key he is to the Bhoys’ defensive structure. Indeed, when he isn’t playing, there is a noticeable instability in the backline which is worrying.

Partnering with Liam Scales for the majority of the campaign, Carter-Vickers is continually consistent and as Celtic did the double in 2023/24, he made 30 appearances in all competitions.
As well as adding two more medals to his ever-expanding collection, the 26-year-old signed a new five-and-a-half-year deal with the Scottish champions this season.
It has been a prosperous year for the USA international and this morning, he made a somewhat rare Instagram post to round off the campaign:

During a season involving several disruptions, Carter-Vickers, when fit, has been a rock at the back for his team.
His outstanding performances perhaps come across as normal due to how consistent he is, but one cannot deny he is the best centre-back Celtic have had since Virgil van Dijk.
