Cameron Carter-Vickers looks set to make his return for Celtic this weekend after being spotted back in training ahead of Saturday’s Scottish Premiership finale against St Mirren at Celtic Park. [SNS]

The centre-back has been managing a niggling injury, with Brendan Rodgers confirming after the derby draw at Ibrox that his minutes would be carefully handled with the Scottish Cup Final on the horizon. The Celtic boss had previously earmarked the St Mirren game as a likely return point, and that now looks on track.
Much like Alistair Johnston, who returned midweek at Pittodrie by playing the final half-hour against Aberdeen, Carter-Vickers could follow a similar pattern on Saturday. The aim will be to get valuable minutes into the defender’s legs without overextending him ahead of the Hampden showpiece against the Dons.
Rodgers is expected to provide a full update on Carter-Vickers when he addresses the media on Friday afternoon, but seeing the American back in full training is a major boost.
Celtic’s defence has looked far more secure with Carter-Vickers in the side, and his leadership at the back will be vital as Rodgers looks to guide his team to a domestic Treble.
The Hoops travel to Hampden Park next weekend to face Aberdeen.
