Celtic defender Cameron Carter-Vickers has revealed that he has not been contacted by any club over a move, despite rumours of Bayer Leverkusen being interested.
With Carter-Vickers’ choice at the heart of defence, like captain Callum McGregor and striker Kyogo Furuhashi, he has become a large part of the core of the team.
With Young Boys visiting Celtic Park in the Champions League still to come and Aston Villa away before the window closes, Celtic will not want to lose any big names before they can mathematically secure a place in the UCL knockout playoffs with a positive result against the Swiss champions at Paradise.
It’s an interesting period for Celtic, with two Champions League games in January, on the 22nd in Glasgow and the 29th at Villa Park against Unai Emery’s side, before the window closes.
This means that any signings made this month won’t be registered until the knockout phase, with any major outgoings highly unlikely
With CCV discussing how he sees his future at the club going forward pre-match ahead of Dundee at Dens Park Tonight.

He said: (Daily Record), “I feel very settled here. To be fair, when I see stuff like that, I don’t really take much note of it because you never know how much truth there is to it unless obviously, you’re told directly. Which I wasn’t. So again, I don’t take much note of it.
“I just kind of focus on what I’ve got going on here. Do you take it as a compliment? Yeah, I think for me I’m always a team-first kind of guy where obviously I want to perform, so it helps the team.
“But it’s definitely nice when you see stuff like that because it does show you that people are noticing what you’re doing and that’s good. I think it’s just like anything in life, while you’re doing something you want to do to the best of your ability.
“So whether there is interest or not at this current time, and for any of the players, we’re at Celtic and we want to do well for the team. To be honest it’s not something I’ve really thought about too deeply but I definitely feel settled here and I’ve enjoyed my time here so far and hope to continue enjoying it.”
A strong message from CCV to supporters: talk of a move away from the Hoops is nothing more than speculation at the time of writing.
With Kyogo also linked with a move to MLS side Atlanta United, the January transfer window merry-go-round is in full swing.
However, moves away from the club for either player appear unlikely unless opposition teams vastly overpay.
It’s exactly the sort of way you want to hear a Celtic defender dealing with transfer speculation, as, put simply, any Hoops player who is playing well will be linked with other clubs due to the focus on Celtic across Scotland and Europe.
