Celtic central defender Cameron Carter-Vickers was last night linked with a move away from Glasgow.
The American, who has featured over 130 times for the Hoops since initially joining them from Tottenham Hotspur in 2021, is reportedly the subject of interest from current Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen.

Larry Henry Jr of The Athletic broke the story, and late last night, he provided another update on X.
He outlined how multiple sources have confirmed to him that Carter-Vickers is an ‘option’ for Leverkusen, although they are only ‘interested’ in the player. Henry Jr also says that the 26-year-old still has high aspirations to go back and play in the English Premier League, although his ‘main’ focus is on winning the treble this season in Scotland.
Celtic in a Strong Position
Carter-Vickers’ current Celtic deal runs until the summer of 2029 after he penned a new long-term contract with the club in January of this year.
The Scottish Premiership champions can, therefore, demand a high fee for the centre-half, although he is seemingly focused on this season and ensuring it ends successfully for his club.
Due to turn 27 on New Year’s Eve, Carter-Vickers is arguably Celtic’s most important player.
He brings utmost stability at the back, and particularly mid-season, the Hoops cannot afford to lose him, and it doesn’t look like they will.
