Cameron Carter-Vickers has opened up on what’s next for him this summer and what he has confirmed is he’s ready to leave Spurs on a permanent basis this summer.

The Celtic loan star who helped the bhoys to an unlikely title win is wanted back at Celtic — but we’ve not heard much in the way of progress when it comes to that deal happening.

CCV is out in the US hoping to impress enough to make it into the the national team’s World Cup squad for the end of the year.

Asked about his status; Cameron was clear he wants to be at a place and settle. [SunSport]

“I am 24 now and want to be somewhere where I can settle for a few years.

“Me and my agent have been talking to the club throughout the season about what’s going to happen at the end of the season.

“But obviously, it’s not just my decision. Celtic have to come to some kind of agreement with Tottenham so it’s not completely in my hands.

“I just want to be somewhere playing football. If I’m being completely honest, I think it’s time to move on permanently.

“I’m happy with last season. I really enjoyed my time there.

“But what will happen in the future? I’m not too sure. Will I go back? You never know.

“I just want to be somewhere where I enjoy my football and get on with the manager.

“The manager at Celtic is a top manager who wants to play out of the back and keep possession, which suits me.”

Celtic fans would love to see CCV back and it;s clear from those comments he hasn’t;t ruled that scenario out at the moment. But he hasn’t unequivocally made it clear he’s staying in Glasgow.

It’s over to Celtic to see if they can put a package together that will satisfy Spurs and the USA international.

Celtic aren’t due back until the end of June; plenty of time to get a deal over the line. Ange will clearly want to see Cameron back but can Michael Nicholson deliver that outcome. The new chief exec did well when it came to transfers last season – can he continue that trend??
