As the Scottish Premiership season prepares to kick off this weekend, Celtic captain Callum McGregor has made it clear that the team is focused solely on their own preparations, rather than getting distracted by the preseason troubles of their city rivals, Rangers.

Speaking at the official launch of the 2024-25 William Hill SPFL season in Glasgow, McGregor refused to get involved in the other side of the city’s business.
It comes after the Rangers manager was keen to bring up Celtic’s name, claiming that Rodgers’ side has a “small renovation” to complete compared to his “big rebuild”. His choice of words were quite ironic, I must say.
Rangers are facing logistical challenges with their home venue, with their initial home games being played at Hampden Park due to delays in the renovation work at Ibrox. Despite the potential advantage this situation could present to Celtic, McGregor stated that this has not been a topic of discussion within the Celtic squad.
“Nah, it’s not something we’ve spoken about or looked at,” McGregor told Clyde 1.
“We have our own set of problems and challenges that we have to face in order to get better as a club and as a squad of players. We’re too busy trying to demand the very best of each other, and what will be will be.
“We’re trying to control all the things that we can control, and push and demand as much as we can from the players. I’m sure once the season starts, everything will sort itself out but the only thing we’re focused on is ourselves.”
He’s shown Clement how it’s done. Focus on yourselves and no one else.
Celtic are going into Sunday in a weaker position than they were when the season ended in May. With no outfield signings and losing Adam Idah and Paulo Bernardo, fans are getting more and more frustrated by the day.
